Pediatric Cardiologist Check-Up 2.0

On our second trip to the pediatric cardiologist we got great news! The twins have no evident defects and just "really noisy pipes", their murmur is "produced by the vibrations coming from the turbulence generated by the normal flow of blood" they will go back at 10 when their heart is a bit bigger and get checked again but as of now there is no evidence of any defects!

The BEST Family Magazine...

There is one magazine that I can not wait to sit down and read once I got it in our mail box and that is :
Family Fun

In this issue not only did I find out three new things to do with sea shells, got a recipe for Pearly Bites cookies, and directions on how to make my own backyard water park I also:

-made and tested out the Foamerator with the boys!

The Foamerator

CRAFT MATERIALS:
Scissors
Plastic water bottle
Used towel
Rubber band
Shallow bowl
Dish soap

Time needed: 30 Minutes or Less

1. Cut the bottom off a plastic water bottle.

2. Cover the open end with a circular piece of towel that's a few inches wider than the bottle. Secure the towel with a rubber band.

3. Dampen the towel with water, then dip it into a shallow bowl of dish soap. Blow gently through the mouth of the bottle to create snakes of tiny bubbles.

-and got the neatest summer scrapbooking idea:

Sand Castle Scrapbook

CRAFT MATERIALS:
Pencil
Sandpaper (we used 60 grit for a coarse, sandy look)
Scissors
Toothpick
Tape
Card stock
Marker
Scrapbook
Double-sided foam tape
Time needed: Under 1 Hour

1. Download our castle template or draw your own castle elements. Trace the castle shapes on the smooth side of a sheet or two of sandpaper and cut them out.

The "Big" Catch...

Mike has taken Connor & Braden fishing three times and not a one of them has caught a single fish! Mike was an avid fisherman back home in Northern NY so this has been a major thorn in the side for him. It doesn't help that his boys have been walking away from each fishing outing feeling bummed because DAD can't catch a fish!
On Friday we took them fishing for the first time with live bait to see if that would help them be more successful. We took them down to Great Bridge Locks Park here in Chesapeake and staked out a pretty spot on the bank watching the boats come through while the draw was open.
We knew we had an hour before the boats would come through again and disturb Mike's attempts so he got himself and the boys all set up.
Braden made it his job to dig out the worms for every one's poles. He got a real kick out of it. Connor would touch the worms but did not want to hold them at all-they are "gross"! Mommy completely understands Connor-I didn't even want the container in my truck!
It wasn't long before both boys had a couple bites-a few times the fish completely getting the worm before they could real their line back in. Once Daddy gave Brady a hand and they almost had one but the fish got off the hook at the last second.
The boys were getting bored and Daddy was getting impatient-he was going to get a fish!
A few minutes before the hour just before the draw opened Mike cast a line out and managed to catch a fish for the boys! It didn't matter that the fish was only 4 inches long....ha ha ha...the three guys were just excited to have caught even one!
The each posed gamely with their "BIG" catch below!

Connor & Braden Phrase-ology

"Love you lots..." "...like tater tots!" How they say good night!

"Lasterday" Yesterday

"You're my best Mommy in the whole wide world!" Suck ups! Where are their other Mommies, I wonder? Especially on their twin terror days!

"Papa sleeps really really fast" On their Papa's window shaking snoring!

"It's Die-licious" When something is really, really good! Connor & his Gramma make "die-licious" apple pies!

"Shimmin' Armour" Braden is going to be a knight in shinning armour

"Wormy cheese" Shredded cheese and this is apparently the only good cheese-give them cubes or string cheese and they aren't interested, open up a bad of mozzarella to top a pizza and they are begging for "wormy cheese"

"Chicka bow wow" Alvin & The Chipmunks...all because Alvin says "bow bow bow chicka bow bow"

"Slow down feet!" What Braden tells his feet when he gets caught running

"I will be so mad to you" What I'm told when I threaten to chop my hair off short!

"I SAID PLEASE NO THANK YOU" Connor "politely" turning down medicine.

Soccer Mom

I honestly don't know who was more excited today when the U4 soccer signs ups for the fall season were announced, the twins or me?

The boys, even at this young age are very big on soccer. They already have three sets of soccer balls (in their colors, blue & green of course!) they kick the ball around all the time with Mike or I and lately they have been begging for a "coach" and to play on a "team".

But we all I know that I am my husband and sons #1 fan, biggest supporter and proudest cheerleader! I have so been looking forward to my "soccer" mom days! I am so happy to reach that phase in mommyhood!

Naturally I've spent time on line today searching for the essentials...shin guards, soccer bag, sports shorts...who am I kidding I found the coolest PINK "Soccer Mom" car decal that I am dying to get for my Blazer and the cutest personalized airbrush tee that I can get done in blue and green (of course!) that says "Proud Soccer Mom (the "o" is a soccer ball) to Connor & Braden"! I'm so excited! I even found the cutest "Soccer Mom" rhinestone pin! The soccer club itself sells family tee's and I am already looking into this cute shirt with your child's jersey number on it and if I can get two numbers on it for both my boys!

So now that I have found all the important things I suppose really should track down shin guards, black socks and black gym shorts!

We are all so excited for fall and we can't wait to play for Chesapeake United Soccer Club!
