End of school year...

The end of the school year was very bittersweet. I was so proud of my little boys for completing their very first year of school but at the same time I was freaking out a little inside: my little boys had just completed their very first year of school!
Mike & I both attended their end of year parties. First up was Connor's luau:
Giraffe-a-laugh limbo...
Playground play...
In an effort to beat the heat-a spray bottle fight!
Group shot-all in their hula skirt they had made
Connor with his teacher Mrs. Eller and aid Mrs. E
Next up was Braden's end of year bash-his classroom door:
They decorated pencil holder's we filled with goodies
Braden & his BFF Miguel

Teacher Appreciation Week

The twins decorated and filled 4 of these cute ceramic pots for their teachers this week. They sponge painted alphabet letters and polka dots on the outside that we set with a coat of Modge Podge then they put a pair of gloves, a tool, soil and some flower seeds inside.
Their teachers loved them and they loved giving them.

Current BIG Project...

Preschool Memories Binder!
I bought a plain white Avery 2 inch 3-ring binder at Walmart and using The Grade School Pack from DCWV I decorated the front covers, spine & I'm still undecided on the back as of yet!
I placed a copy of the school calendar inside as well as all the sheets of stuff they have been sent home with since the beginning of the year-welcome letters, supply lists, daily notes on progress, class craft calendars, school & PTA newsletters, etc...I am OCD so they are all sleeved and organized into a system!
I am going to scrap the day they toured the school, their first day, holiday parties and other events I have taken photo's of for them. All of their "flat" or "sleevable" school projects will be sleeved and included-any bulky or 3D projects will be photographed and the photo's inserted into sleeves. I am debating getting baseball card page protectors and going that route to include many on a single page or just use typical 4 x 6 photo album page inserts.
This project is just starting but I am excited to get going with it-I'll take photo's and post my progress!

Valentine for teacher

I love that my boys love to craft, truly I do! So we grabbed a little of this and a little of that (i.e. foam heats, ribbons, beads, glitter pens and rhinestones) and whipped up some cute Valentine magnets for their preschool teachers. On the teacher ones we only wrote the teacher's name on the front (so this can be a reusable holiday magnet) and on the backside beneath the magnet the boys signed and dated them. They had a great time making them (in total we made 12!) and can't wait to hand them out!

First Day of School

Connor & Braden have had a wonderful first week of school! They both love going and love their teachers.
The first day Mike & I were lucky to get a "goodbye" when we dropped them off they were so excited to start! Braden did make sure though that he got to say goodbye to Connor & that Connor said goodbye to him before heading off to his own class!
When I went to pick them up Braden's class came out first and he ran and gave me a great big hug but then when Connor's class came out he raced me to get to hug his brother first! They were very excited to see each other.
We met Daddy and a couple of the guys from his squad for lunch at Wendy's (the boys pick!) to celebrate their first big day of school. They told everyone in the restaurant that would listen all about their day, from Connor's bear hunt to Braden's "Wheels on the Bus" project.
Their second day of school was much the same with barely a "see you" for Mommy! When we arrived in each of their classrooms they both ran to hug their teachers-I guess that means they like them! (Ha ha) They were happy to report that they had library time together which I thought was a nice treat for them! They seem to be adjusting well to having separate teachers-I think it's kind of fun for them. I'm so excited for them that they love going!
